Welcome!
The Luke House was an idea born in August of 2007 to volunteers from all walks of life, experiences and perspectives who share one common mission - that those who are suffering from drug and alcohol addiction in our community and who are ready and willing to begin the recovery process have access to a safe, structured and supportive environment to do that within.
The Luke House is a voluntary, faith-based, peer-driven program for recovery support in our community that will also provide services for non-residents who need assistance.
The goal for program participants is to learn coping skills, acquire knowledge about their disease, increase their level of self awareness, set and achieve goals, increase personal growth and develop the support system they need to not only re-enter everyday life but to do so successfully and with permanence.
This spring and summer we are beginning our renovation of the house. We have made it a long way but still have a long way to go. If you or anyone you know would be interested in any kind of volunteer work please contact us. Everyone CAN make a difference.
Latest and Greatest: Tomorrow a work crew from the Indiana Department of Corrections will be at the house for a week. We have a lot of projects for them to work on and are very grateful and excited. Please check back at the end of the week to see some new before and after pictures. This coming weekend the ladies from the United Methodist Church in Sullivan are going to start work on one of the bedrooms upstairs and Rita has started work on the upstairs bath ... good things are coming!
We have received correspondence from several people and correctional facilities as of late asking for information and placement. We cannot express enough how much we need people to volunteer their time at the house on work days.
